About The Position

We are looking for Emergency Technicians for our Daytime, Mid-shift and Overnight shifts. As a Pinnacle ER Veterinary Nurse, you will be expected to treat each patient and owner with the highest level of compassion & care. You will perform basic to ICU level nursing care tasks, patient monitoring, and treatments. You will use your understanding of common diseases and conditions, physical assessment, and monitoring parameters to accurately triage incoming patients. You will administer subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications and understand potential adverse effects of medications. You will set-up, monitor, and administer intravenous fluid therapy including constant rate infusions and blood transfusion therapy. You will contribute to incoming outpatient care and ongoing inpatient care. You will participate in giving and receiving patient rounds to ensure continuity of care and be trained to properly perform all aspects of CPR. You will collect samples and perform diagnostic tests including in-house & point-of-care tests and diagnostic imaging. You will perform nursing care tasks such as placing and/or maintaining urinary catheters, nasoenteral tubes, nasal oxygen tubes, chest and abdominal tubes. You will set up, maintain, and troubleshoot oxygen cages and other oxygen administration techniques. Our brand-new facility opened in August 2021 and houses emergency/critical care, internal medicine, neurology, surgery, radiology and cardiology. We have digital radiography, full in house Idexx lab systems, Siemens blood gas analyzer, a GE 16 Slice CT scanner and a mobile MRI unit. PVS is located at 600 Evergreen Drive in Glen Mills, PA which is a southern suburb of Philadelphia. We are located across from the Costco in Glen Mills and near the Brinton Lake Shopping complex allowing easy access to restaurants and shopping.

Requirements

  • Has a CVT or 2+ years’ experience in a comparable emergency and/or specialty facility.
  • Recent CVT graduates will be considered.
  • Is kind, supportive of their team, and has a strong work ethic.
  • Has a desire to grow and develop their nursing skillset.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and electronic) with the team and with customers
  • Fine motor skills adequate for utilizing hospital equipment necessary daily such as syringes, electric clippers, computers, surgery instruments, monitors, diagnostic equipment, etc.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, work on the floor as well as ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on own and able to support up to 80 lbs. with assistance.
