Emergency Veterinary Technician Assistant
About The Position
MedVet is seeking a collaborative, driven Emergency Veterinary Technician Assistant to join its clinical team. The emergency department provides constant supervision to patients so treatment plans can be carried out. This role is suited to someone who can recognize patient distress and respond appropriately, assist with patient recovery, and support client follow-up and education. The proposed schedule is Thursday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The hiring range is $15.00–$16.50 per hour, based on experience. Employment is contingent upon passing a drug screen and background check. MedVet is an equal opportunity and drug-free employer.
Requirements
- Prior veterinary experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent client service skills and phone etiquette.
- Ability to multitask, self-motivate, and maintain strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work successfully as a team member and autonomously.
- Sense of urgency and critical-thinking skills.
- Effective patient restraint skills.
- Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Help ensure patients receive quality care.
- Ensure patient documentation is accurate and complete.
- Provide oversight and care for stable patients.
- Assist Veterinary Technicians with patient restraint.
- Manage restocking of supplies for clinical teams.
- Maintain clean treatment areas and manage the department’s laundry needs.
