This specific role is for an Emergency Veterinary Clinical Supervisor, working 3 12-hour shifts from 7 am to 7 pm, including every other weekend. The Emergency team is ideal for technicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment, can quickly adapt, and handle the stress of critical situations with ease, as every day presents different and unique cases.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • Prior veterinary experience required
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Escalates issues to Clinical Manager
  • Functions as a scheduled Clinical Services team member within department(s)
  • Collaborates with other departments regarding patient and client needs
  • Prioritizes and organizes workflows for shift
  • Directly manages Clinical Services team members while on shift which includes but is not limited to:
  • Manages early call-ins, early departures, call-offs, sharing of resources, breaks and lunches for team members
  • Assigns team member responsibilities per shift
  • Addresses process or employee issues during their shift
  • Communicates schedule changes, performance concerns and shift issues to the Clinical Manager routinely
  • Serves as first level responder to client concerns and drug escalations
  • Trains and mentors new team members
  • Provides input to Clinical Manager on team member performance evaluations
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities
  • Participates in management or administrative meeting(s) routinely
