About The Position
The EmERge Emergency Veterinarian Mentorship Training Program at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Buffalo, NY, offers immersive emergency veterinarian training designed to develop skilled, confident, and proficient emergency veterinarians capable of providing life-saving care. The one-year program includes hands-on training, lectures, mentoring, and real-world experience. It is open to both new graduates and seasoned veterinary professionals seeking a new challenge. The program provides essential components for a successful career in emergency veterinary medicine, fostering connections with peers and creating memorable experiences. Participants receive a competitive salary throughout the program. Note that this program does not substitute for an internship required for residency applications.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited veterinary school
- Passed (or pending) the NAVLE
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of interest
- A one-year work commitment after training is required, totaling two years.

Responsibilities
- Administer life-saving care for pets in crisis.
- Receive hands-on training, lectures, mentoring, and real-world experience.
- Manage complex cases with greater independence.
- Work full shifts in the ER, developing critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Participate in weekly webinar series.
- Take on full responsibility for managing emergency cases.
- Collaborate with the hospital team to provide exceptional patient care.
- Apply advanced diagnostic and procedural skills.
- Maintain access to mentor guidance.
