EmERge - Emergency Veterinarian Mentorship Training Program
About The Position
BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital offers the EmERge program, an Emergency Veterinarian training program designed to equip participants with the necessary skills and confidence to become successful Emergency Veterinarians in their state-of-the-art hospitals. The program is for DVM or VMD graduates or current veterinarians seeking a career change in emergency veterinary medicine. It is a full-time job from the start, preparing participants for their first solo emergency shift. The curriculum integrates online modules, interactive seminars, labs, mentorship, and hands-on practical experience, providing valuable training from experienced veterinarians while participants receive a salary from day one. The program is structured in three phases over 52 weeks, followed by a total two-year commitment.
Requirements
- A graduate of an accredited veterinary school
- Individual with a sincere interest in becoming an Emergency Veterinarian
- A current Veterinarian looking for a career change
- DVM or VMD degree
- Total commitment of two years, including the initial year of training
Responsibilities
- Apply training in a real-world setting under the mentorship of experienced emergency clinicians
- Transition to managing more complex cases with greater independence while still receiving guidance from mentors
- Work full shifts in the ER, continuing to develop critical thinking and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
- Handle a variety of emergency cases to broaden expertise and build confidence in emergency medicine
- Take on full responsibility for managing emergency cases, showcasing confidence and competence in clinical decision-making
- Work alongside the hospital team to provide exceptional patient care while honing leadership and communication skills
- Apply advanced diagnostic and procedural skills gained throughout the program to handle high-acuity cases
