EmERge - Emergency Veterinarian Mentorship Training Program
About The Position
BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is proud to offer an Emergency Veterinarian training program called EmERge. Our EmERge program helps you obtain the skills and the confidence that you need in order to be a successful Emergency Veterinarian at one of our state-of-the-art hospitals. Have you always thought about practicing emergency veterinary medicine? Are you eager to think on your feet and handle challenging cases in veterinary medicine? Do you look forward to learning and leading by example in the emergency veterinary industry? Are you a DVM or VMD looking for "the next step" or "a change"? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, we want to hear from you! The BluePearl EmERge Program is designed to give veterinary school graduates the necessary training to become successful Emergency Veterinarians. It is a full-time job from the very beginning, and we will prepare you for your first solo emergency shift at one of our BluePearl hospitals. The program combines online modules, interactive seminars, labs, mentoring, and hands-on practice experience. Not only will you receive valuable training from experienced Veterinarians, you will also be paid a salary from your first day. The total commitment is two years, including the initial year of training.
Requirements
- A graduate of an accredited veterinary school
- Individual with a sincere interest in becoming an Emergency Veterinarian
- A current Veterinarian looking for a career change
- DVM or VMD
Responsibilities
- Apply training in a real-world setting under the mentorship of experienced emergency clinicians
- Transition to managing more complex cases with greater independence while still receiving guidance from mentors
- Work full shifts in the ER, continuing to develop critical thinking and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
- Handle a variety of emergency cases to broaden expertise and build confidence in emergency medicine
- Participate in a weekly webinar series designed to enhance your learning and keep you updated on the latest practices in emergency veterinary medicine
- Take on full responsibility for managing emergency cases, showcasing confidence and competence in clinical decision-making
- Work alongside the hospital team to provide exceptional patient care while honing leadership and communication skills
- Apply advanced diagnostic and procedural skills gained throughout the program to handle high-acuity cases
- Maintain access to mentor guidance as needed, ensuring continued growth and support
