About The Position

First Coast Veterinary Specialists & Emergency is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 6-month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us. We have a well-equipped facility that includes: CT, Endoscopy, Ultrasound, Ligasure, ezyVet with Smartflo. Skilled technical and customer service team. The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration. The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.

• Work authorization in the United States.
• Candidates eligible for TN status may be considered.

• Option to re-sign for another 6-month training program.
• Option to transfer to a 12-month associate role with First Coast, should an opening be available.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 6-month training and mentorship program focused on emergency medicine.
• Train with in-house surgical specialists, a traveling internist, and a referral network.
• Develop clinical knowledge and skills in emergency veterinary medicine.
• Focus on client and team member communication.
• Develop professional skills and life/work integration.
• Utilize a hybrid training approach with simulation-based didactic components and live patient experiences.
• Rotate with specialty services during the training program.
• Engage in surgical training.
• Work with a dedicated mentor on shifts.
• Participate in asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds.
• Attend regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors.
