About The Position

Mount Dora Veterinary Hospital is expanding its services to include emergency and urgent care medicine, and is seeking an Emergency/Urgent Care Veterinarian to lead this new initiative. The role involves providing critical care during overnight hours, establishing protocols and workflows for the new service, and working collaboratively with a support team. This position offers a fast-paced and rewarding environment, with flexible scheduling options for both full-time and part-time candidates.

Requirements

• DVM Licensed (or eligible) in Florida.
• Experience or strong interest in emergency/urgent care.
• Skilled in urgent care / ER cases and surgery.
• Prefers working overnights.
• Confident, compassionate, and ready to help build something new.
• Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
• Current DEA License or obtained upon hire.
• Active Veterinary Florida State License.
• USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential emergency and urgent care services to patients during overnight hours.
• Help establish the protocols, workflows, and overall success of the new emergency service.
• Work alongside a skilled and collaborative support team.
• Practice medicine at the highest level using modern diagnostic tools and facilities.
