About The Position

The EmERge Program offers immersive emergency veterinarian training, propelling you toward becoming a skilled, confident, and proficient emergency veterinarian, equipped to administer life-saving care for pets in crisis. From day one, you'll be part of our team, receiving hands-on training, lectures, mentoring, and real-world experience. This comprehensive one-year program furnishes all the essential components for a prosperous career in emergency veterinary medicine, encompassing vital hands-on experiences, immersive training, and personalized mentorship crucial for success. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited veterinary school
  • Passed (or pending) the NAVLE
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of interest

Responsibilities

  • Build foundational emergency medicine skills.
  • Gain exposure to various specialties to enhance your understanding and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Apply your training in a real-world setting under the mentorship of experienced emergency clinicians.
  • Transition to managing more complex cases with greater independence while still receiving guidance from mentors.
  • Work full shifts in the ER, continuing to develop critical thinking and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Handle a variety of emergency cases to broaden expertise and build confidence in emergency medicine.
  • Take on full responsibility for managing emergency cases, showcasing confidence and competence in clinical decision-making.
  • Work alongside the hospital team to provide exceptional patient care while honing leadership and communication skills.
  • Apply advanced diagnostic and procedural skills gained throughout the program to handle high-acuity cases.
