About The Position

Care Center is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 6-9-month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us and transition into an ER position at Care Centers Dayton and Cincinnati. Located in the heart of southwest Ohio, Care Center Cincinnati is a bustling, multi-specialty and emergency hospital known for delivering outstanding patient care and fostering a culture of collaboration. As a cornerstone of the veterinary community in the region, our hospital features a highly skilled team, advanced equipment, and strong relationships with referring veterinarians. The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration. The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.

Requirements

  • Veterinarian passionate about working in emergency medicine.
  • Team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable.
  • Work authorization in the United States.
  • Candidates eligible for TN status may be considered.
  • Commitment of 1 year as an ER clinician following training.

Responsibilities

  • Train in emergency medicine through a 6-9 month mentorship program.
  • Transition into an ER position at Care Centers Dayton and Cincinnati.
  • Participate in a 5-day work week consisting of 4 clinical days and 1 didactic day.
  • Rotate with other specialty services during the training program, including Emergency, Critical Care, Cardiology, Integrative Medicine, Oncology, Medical Oncology, Surgery, and Radiology.
  • Work with a dedicated mentor on shifts.
  • Engage in asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds.
  • Attend regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors.

  • Excellent post-training schedule: 3-day work week, no more than 3 shifts in a row, always 2 days off between working.
