An Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVO) is part of a two-member team with an EMT, and is responsible for safely driving an ambulance to emergency and scheduled pick-up locations, transporting patients and emergency personnel, assisting in moving patients via stretchers, and otherwise assisting emergency personnel as requested. EVOs go through an extensive in-house training program, which includes the following: EVOC driver course, CPR & first aid, incident command and national incident management systems, hazardous materials, and field & driver orientation. FT EVO earns $17.60 per hour plus bonuses and benefits. EVOs work at each of our stations in Schenectady, Albany, Troy, and Glenville New York. Room to Grow: EVOs in good standing are able to enroll into Mohawk Ambulance Service's EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) courses to promote into an EMT-Basic role with the company. 100% loan forgiveness options are available with a one-year full-time or two-year part-time work commitment.
