Emergency Shelter Case Manager
About The Position
The Center for Youth, founded by youth for youth, partners with young people to help them reach their full potential by creating opportunities, removing barriers, and promoting social justice. The Center values diversity and ensures understanding of differences in people of diverse cultures, ethnic origins, sexual orientation, disabilities, and beliefs. The emergency shelter team provides 24/7, year-round emergency survival-support services to homeless and runaway youth. The Emergency Shelter Case Manager engages youth, building trusting relationships from a strength-based perspective. Case Managers collaborate with youth to identify issues, concerns, and needs, and develop strategies to address them. This role partners with the Youth and Family Counselor to offer case management, including assessments, referrals, transportation, and counseling. The Emergency Shelter Case Manager also supports daily shelter activities and milieu management using a positive youth development approach.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Human Services OR Equivalent combination of experience and education
- Knowledge of youth asset development and risk reduction theory, and youth serving systems, community resources, partnerships and collaborations
- A valid Driver's license
