About The Position

The Emergency Services Technician supports nursing and physician staff in the Emergency Department by performing tasks that assist with the treatment and care of patients with illnesses or injuries. The technician considers patients’ physical and age-related needs and works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role requires providing appropriate care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, and demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles. Duties are performed in a manner that supports teamwork and reflects Willamette Valley Medical Center’s mission and philosophy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within three months of hire and maintain it as current.

Nice To Haves

• Current EMT-B, AEMT, or Paramedic license, or CNA license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care under nurse supervision and within the scope of practice of a CNA I or II and Emergency Department Technician.
• Participate as a contributing member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Complete documentation within departmental requirements and timelines.
• Participate in responsible management of departmental and hospital resources.
• Work with the Emergency Department team to maintain equipment and supplies and adequate inventory levels.
• Meet annual in-service requirements and pursue ongoing personal development.
• Perform phlebotomy.
