About The Position

Dow has an exciting job opportunity as an Emergency Services & Security (ES&S) Technician (EMT/Firefighter) in Oyster Creek, Texas at the Freeport site. The Freeport site has over 3000 employees and is a 24 hour / 7 day operation including holidays. Dow is looking for technically capable Emergency Services Technicians who embrace change, adapt quickly, make decisions rapidly, possess self-confidence and leadership skills and enjoy being lifelong learners. Dow offers a variety of career opportunities to assume responsibility for business accomplishments as indicated by "measures of performance" and to participate in group activities. This role is aligned to the Diamond Infrastructure Solutions (“Diamond Infra”) company and will be seconded from Dow to Diamond Infrastructure Solutions until January 1, 2027. At that time, the role will become directly aligned to the Diamond Infrastructure Solutions Company.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Current NREMT or Texas Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT - B) license
  • Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift, inside, outside, overtime, holidays and weekends.
  • Be 18 years old or older.
  • Be willing to work weekends, and holidays, if required.
  • Be willing to work overtime (extra hours beyond your regular scheduled) if required.
  • A current, valid US driver’s license.
  • Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Texas Class B Exempt driver's license
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Pass a physical ability test prior to hire.
  • The physical ability to lift hoses, climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs, bolt flanges, operate valves, fire pumps and other emergency equipment and vehicles as part of the job.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Nice To Haves

  • Current NREMT or Texas paramedic license
  • Firefighter 1 & 2 certification
  • Industrial firefighting and rescue experience
  • Certification in confined space / high angle rescue.
  • Production and Process Operations experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
  • A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work activities in a safe team environment and follow operating discipline, procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation of assigned duties related to the function.
  • Drive and operate fire trucks, ambulances, and other apparatus.
  • Utilize troubleshooting skills to resolve deviations and problems and accurately complete all required paperwork.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve all process issues.
