About The Position

We are seeking experienced First Responders to join our current Plant Protection Team. The Emergency Services Operator primary duty will be resolving emergencies (e.g loss of containment that could result in a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous materials) at the TXO site. During emergencies they will be working under the TXO Incident Command structure and will assist other TXO emergency operators during declared emergencies. The work schedule will be a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (4-5-5, or a 48/36, etc.) to provide 24/7 coverage. This role may also be utilized to cover off shifts for other TXO emergency operators who may not be available due to vacation, illness, or to provide fire standby support. The ideal candidate will be safety focused and have strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills. Additional Safety Related Duties: During the time when the emergency services operators are not responding to emergencies, they will work on conducting the following safety related inspections and services at TXO. PIV Inspections-Conduct inspection of approximately 760 PIV’s at the site per current NFPA standards. Fire Hydrant Inspection-Conduct annual inspection and preventative maintenance of approximately 200 fire hydrants per current NFPA standards. Fire Hose-Annual inspection and pressure testing of approximately 40,000 ft. of fire hose at the site. The pressure testing will be conducted using the TXO firewater distribution system to provide the water pressure to conduct the test. Testing will be conducted per current NFPA standards. Safety Shower/Eye Bath Performance Tests- Conduct annual flow tests on approximately 600 safety showers and eye baths at the site to show compliance with ANSI performance requirements. SCBA-Conduct inspections per current NFPA standards on approximately 200 SCBA’s. Level A PPE-Conduct inspections per current NFPA standards on approximately 50 suits. SCBA Filling and Mask Washing-Refill SCBA cylinders and wash masks following training exercises and emergencies. Approximately 500 SCBA cylinders and masks per year are estimated to be filled and washed. Fire Extinguisher Filling-Refill fire extinguishers following training exercises. Approximately 750 fire extinguishers are estimated to be filled per year. Inspection of fall protection equipment (harness, lanyard, etc.). Inspect wire ropes and synthetic slings used for hoisting equipment at TXO. Assist in sprinkler system repairs. Conduct routine security inspections.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High school/GED
  • A valid state driver’s license
  • Emergency Response Experience
  • Hazmat NFPA 472/1072 Awareness
  • ICS 100,200,700,800 certification and corresponding experience
  • First Aid and CPR Training

  • Safety Inspector experience
