About The Position

The Emergency Services Dispatcher works in the Security and Emergency Services department at Ashby Ponds, managing multiple Security and EMS systems from a central location. The dispatcher handles emergency and routine calls for service while providing personalized customer service and hospitality to residents and visitors. This is a 12-hour night shift, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

• Ability to maintain composure and situational awareness while dealing calmly with emergencies, ambiguity, and new challenges.
• Effective communication skills with residents, visitors, and staff at all levels.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in 911 call-taking or dispatching, or Emergency Medical Services, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Track pertinent information during the shift and initiate the first level of incident reports for Security and Emergency Services Officer completion.
• Monitor the Emergency Call System for independent living.
• Track the status of residents involved in emergency situations.
• Monitor the Fire Alarm System.
• Dispatch ambulances, private ambulances, or 911 as needed.
• Build rapport with residents and visitors by providing personalized customer service and hospitality.
