About The Position

Ashby Ponds by Erickson Senior Living is seeking an experienced Emergency Services Dispatcher for its Security and Emergency Services department. Working from a central location, the dispatcher manages multiple Security and EMS systems and dispatches emergency and routine calls for service. The role also involves building rapport with residents and visitors through personalized customer service and hospitality, while helping make safety a priority. This is a 12-hour night shift position, from 7 PM to 7 AM. Compensation ranges from $20 to $24 per hour, plus an applicable $2-per-hour night shift differential. Ashby Ponds is a continuing care retirement community in Loudoun County, Virginia, managed by Erickson Senior Living.

Requirements

Ability to maintain composure and situational awareness while dealing calmly with emergencies, ambiguity, and new challenges.
Effective communication skills with residents, visitors, and staff at all levels.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in 911 call-taking or dispatching, or Emergency Medical Services.

Responsibilities

Track pertinent information during the shift and initiate the first level of incident reports for completion by Security and Emergency Services Officers.
Monitor the Emergency Call System for independent living.
Track the status of residents involved in emergency situations.
Monitor the Fire Alarm System.
Dispatch ambulances, private ambulances, or 911 as needed.
Provide personalized customer service and hospitality to residents and visitors.
