About The Position

Hutchinson Reno County Emergency Communications (HRCEC) is seeking dedicated individuals to join their team on the forefront of emergency response. HRCEC utilizes cutting-edge technology and industry-leading practices to serve 39 agencies within Reno County. As a telecommunicator, you will be the crucial first point of contact, playing a pivotal role in emergency situations.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • All applicants will undergo a formal background check.
  • No convictions (felony or equivalent under UCMJ), expunged convictions, or placement on diversion for a felony.
  • No convictions (misdemeanor domestic violence or equivalent under UCMJ), expunged convictions, or placement on diversion for a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
  • Furnish evidence of successful completion of an examination indicating equivalent achievement if no high school diploma.
  • Be of good moral character.
  • Satisfy all requirements set forth by the City of Hutchinson.
  • If military service, DD214 must reflect a separation code and an honorable discharge or a discharge under honorable conditions.
  • Not falsified, intentionally misrepresented, or not been completely truthful or have not fully disclosed ALL information requested on a questionnaire, document, or application as part of the pre-employment process.
  • Has not been convicted of, plead guilty or no contest to, or received diversion on serious traffic violation within the past five years (DIU, reckless driving, hit and run, vehicular homicide, and eluding a police officer).
  • Has not been convicted of a crime involving an act of dishonesty (theft, insufficient funds (checks), fraud, false police reports, etc.). Juvenile convictions will be reviewed.
  • Truthfully and thoroughly answer all questions contained in the Application for Employment, including any criminal and dishonest conduct.
  • Consent to background and drug screening prior to starting employment.

  • Employee is expected to have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably within 6 months of employment.
