About The Position

Sampson County is actively recruiting for our next Emergency Services Director. This dynamic individual will have a proven track record of leading by example with effective communication skills and demonstrated success in progressively responsible roles. This vital position reports directly to the County Manager and/or Assistant County Manager and supervises all operations for Emergency Management, Medical Response, E911 Communications, Fire Marshals, and GIS Operations. Maintaining 24/7 emergency response, this position also serves as the liaison between the County and various career and volunteer agencies and maintains responsibility for the County's Emergency Operations Plan and Emergency Operations Center.

Requirements

• Proven track record of leading by example with effective communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in progressively responsible roles.
• Bachelor's degree in emergency management or directly related field.
• Considerable supervisory experience in emergency service delivery.
