About The Position

The Senior Director, Emergency Services is responsible for leading and overseeing clinical operations within a designated area, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals. This role provides strategic and operational leadership, manages resources, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize clinical services, patient outcomes, and staff development. Depending on departmental needs, the Senior Director may focus on specialized areas such as Emergency Services, Surgical Services, or other clinical domains, adapting leadership to meet specific service line requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
  • 8-10 years of experience in clinical management, with significant experience in a senior leadership role within a specialized service line (e.g., Emergency, Surgical) required
  • 4-6 years of experience in management in a large tertiary facility or Market required
  • Experience in leading successful performance Improvement efforts in an acute care setting required
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required

  • CENP - Certified in Executive Nursing Practice preferred
  • Strong knowledge of clinical operations, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement in healthcare settings.
  • Strategic and analytical skills to guide service line growth, resource management, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Leads clinical operations for the designated area, establishing and implementing policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent and quality patient care.
  • Develops and executes strategic initiatives to support growth, resource optimization, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborates with clinical and administrative leadership to monitor performance metrics, implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provides leadership and direction to clinical management and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensures staff training, competency, and professional development are aligned with clinical standards and organizational objectives.
  • Oversees patient safety and risk management initiatives within the department, addressing issues proactively and ensuring a safe care environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
