About The Position
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse works in a fast-paced Emergency Department providing critical care to patients with varying medical needs. The position offers guaranteed hours. The unit has more than 40 beds and more than 120 staff, with patient ratios of 4:1; during high-volume periods, this may consist of three rooms and one hall bed. Equipment includes cardiac monitors, EKGs, ultrasound, a Belmont Rapid Infuser, IO drills, and Lifepak. The department uses Meditech as its EMR. The role is located in Independence, Missouri.
Requirements
- Required certifications for RNs: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI.
- Adaptability.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player.
- Wear a gray scrub top with black or gray scrub bottoms. Appropriate colored T-shirts may be worn under a nursing scrub jacket or hospital-approved jacket.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working under high pressure.
- Previous medical experience, such as experience as an RN, Medic, or Technician.
- Outgoing demeanor and the ability to remain positive under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Perform IV starts and phlebotomy procedures.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac activity.
