About The Position

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient care in the Emergency Department in accordance with the Nursing Process and applicable policies and procedures. The role requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and effective leadership to support the safe delivery of care. The position is located in Alabama and requires night and weekend work, including every other weekend. Initial assignments are for 13 weeks.

Requirements

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• 1–2 years of recent Emergency Department experience.
• Active Alabama nursing license with no hits.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with the Cerner electronic health record system.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room.
• Use the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Apply critical-thinking and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Delegate patient-care responsibilities to support staff according to their education and experience.
• Follow the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Maintain clinical competencies and stay current through continuing education.
