About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-volume, high-acuity emergency room. The role involves caring for a range of patients, including trauma, stroke, pediatric, and psychological cases, and requires adaptability in a high-pressure environment. The ER has 28 beds, including 4 fast-track beds and 2 trauma bays, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4. Cerner is the electronic medical records system. Hospitalist and intensivist support, as well as EMT and respiratory teams, are available 24/7. Holiday requests are considered but are not guaranteed.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in Emergency Room nursing.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Proven experience in high-volume and high-acuity emergency room settings.
• Ability to pass a proctored dysrhythmia test on the first day of employment.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to lead by example.
• Ability to adapt to a high-pressure setting and manage trauma, stroke, pediatric, and psychological cases.

• TNCC certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency room setting.
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
• Monitor and document patient progress and responses to treatment.
• Participate in trauma care and manage critical patients as required.
• Guide and mentor junior staff and nursing aides.
