About The Position

Tap Healthcare Solutions is seeking a confident and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join a respected healthcare organization in Ottumwa, Iowa. In this role, you will provide rapid assessment, stabilization, and nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of urgent and emergent conditions. You'll work alongside physicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals in an environment where strong judgment, teamwork, and timely intervention can make an immediate difference. This full-time opportunity offers a competitive salary of $71,000 – $96,000 annually and is an excellent fit for an RN who thrives in the unpredictable, fast-paced nature of emergency medicine. From initial triage through treatment and disposition, you'll play an essential role in helping patients and families navigate critical moments while delivering safe, responsive, and compassionate care.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or active multistate nursing license permitting practice in Iowa.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
  • Iowa Mandatory Reporter – Child Abuse certification.
  • Iowa Mandatory Reporter – Dependent Adult Abuse certification.
  • Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to remain composed and make appropriate clinical decisions in rapidly changing emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Emergency Department, trauma, or acute care nursing experience.
  • Experience with emergency triage, stabilization, and management of patients across varying levels of acuity.
  • Strong IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency assessment skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and emergency department documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary clinical teams during high-stress situations.
