About The Position

This Registered Nurse position provides nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Room. The unit has 12 patient beds, including a fast-track area, one triage room, intermixed ER holds with a 3-hour transfer goal, and one psych/seclusion room equipped for safety. In-house security is available 24/7. The unit sees an average of 88 patients daily, with staffing ratios of 1:4 and flexibility to 1:6 for Urgent Care patients.

The position requires 12-hour evening shifts and guarantees 36 hours per week. Weekend shifts are scheduled as six shifts over a six-week rotation, and nurses are expected to work one major summer holiday and one major winter holiday. Orientation includes one to two shadowing shifts and online modules. Floating may occur within the Federal Services Emergency Departments, with volunteers given priority. The dress code is black scrubs.

Requirements

• Two years of recent experience in an Emergency Room setting.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• NIHSS certification.
• NRP certification.
• PALS certification.
• TNCC certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room environment.
• Perform triage duties, including assessing patient needs.
• Collaborate with medical staff, including one to two physicians on site.
• Use EPIC for electronic medical records.
• Conduct nursing assessments and interventions.
• Draw blood and perform necessary laboratory tests.
