About The Position

This role involves leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of health, safety, wellness, and disability programs across the site. The Emergency Response Lead will serve as the organization's subject matter expert on occupational health and disability management practices, overseeing the full lifecycle management of WSIB, Short-Term Disability (STD), and Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims. A key aspect of this position is the development and maintenance of the site's Emergency Response Plan and Program, ensuring alignment with regulatory and government guidelines. The Lead will also be responsible for training the Mine Rescue / Emergency Response Team, maintaining emergency equipment, and coordinating emergency response efforts during incidents.

Requirements

• Subject matter expert on occupational health and disability management practices
• Experience with WSIB, Short-Term Disability (STD), and Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims management
• Ability to lead and maintain training for an Emergency Response Team
• Knowledge of Mine Emergency Response Plans and Programs
• Experience in developing and delivering safety awareness training
• Proficiency in maintaining emergency equipment, supplies, and communication tools
• Experience as an Emergency Response coordinator during emergency events

Responsibilities

• Serving as the organization’s subject matter expert on occupational health and disability management practices
• Overseeing the full lifecycle management of WSIB, Short-Term Disability (STD), and Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims
• Lead & maintain required training for the site Mine Rescue / Emergency Response Team.
• Support the Mine Emergency Response Plan & Program is aligned to regulatory and government guidelines and requirements
• Lead and oversee the site’s Emergency Response Team (ERT)
• Developing, maintaining, & introducing safety awareness short courses and any associated safety training as required
• Maintain readiness of emergency equipment, supplies, and communication tools
• Primary Emergency Response coordinator during emergency events
