About The Position

As a Emergency Response & Security Specialist , you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, overseeing maintenance on plant security systems, fire protection systems, response equipment, managing training of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), and working with outside agencies to help protect the Lubrizol Painesville facilities from potential threats to employees, property, information, security, surrounding community, and the environment. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.

Requirements

  • Highschool Graduate or Equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a certified State of Ohio Firefighter.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a certified State of Ohio EMT-B.
  • Minimum of a 40-hour certification as a Hazardous Materials Technician.
  • Must have or be able to obtain the following certifications: State of Ohio Firefighter II, State Fire instructor, State EMT instructor, CPR instructor, State HazMat Technician Instructor, Texas A&M Instructor, State of Ohio Fire Inspector.
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude to understand and troubleshoot fire protection and security systems.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Skills to effectively communicate and train all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work a 40-hour work week with flexibility (weekday, weekend, nights) as required to accommodate facility needs (training, maintenance, etc.)
  • Willing/able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Capable of safely performing high risk tasks in accordance with OSHA and company standards. This includes, but is not limited to: Working at height using fall arrest PPE and elevated work platforms. Working while wearing various respiratory protection such as a cartridge respirator, PAPR, and SCBA. Working in HazMat environments wearing chemical protective PPE. Working in live fire conditions wearing firefighting PPE.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in security operations.
  • Experience with SAP apps related to equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Experience teaching adult learners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the training curriculum for fire, Hazmat, EMS, CPR, and related classes.
  • Conduct training sessions to educate individuals on fire, Hazmat, EMS, CPR, and related topics.
  • Maintain accurate records of training, equipment maintenance, and department metrics.
  • Audit responder certifications and training records to ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on security systems, fire protection systems, and emergency response equipment.
  • Collaborate with contractors and insurance representatives to oversee equipment and system installations.
