About The Position

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a Locum Tenens position in Johnson City, TN. This role involves providing clinical coverage in a hospital-based emergency department with approximately 24,000 annual ED visits. The physician will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating emergency department patients, performing emergency stabilization and management of acute conditions, and completing accurate documentation within the Epic EMR system. A key responsibility includes supervising NP and PA providers in accordance with facility requirements. The coverage period is from August 2026 onwards, with a TBD shift schedule.

Requirements

  • Active Unrestricted Tennessee Medical License
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible through ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, ABPS, or AOA Pathways
  • DEA: Active DEA with Tennessee Address and Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5
  • ACLS, ATLS, and PALS Required if Not Board Certified in Emergency Medicine; NRP Required for Non-ABEM Providers
  • Graduate of an Accredited MD or DO Program
  • Completion of Residency Training
  • ECFMG Required for Foreign Medical Graduates
  • Case Logs for Previous 2 Years Required
  • Preeclampsia-Eclampsia CME Required for Initial Application and Every Two Years for Reappointment
  • Fellowship Required
  • Must Meet Supervising Physician Requirements for NP and PA Oversight
