About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for an Emergency Medicine Physician in Michigan City, IN. The role involves providing clinical coverage in a hospital setting, specifically within the Emergency Department. The position is ongoing, starting August 1, 2026, with a flexible clinical shift schedule. The Emergency Department has approximately 17,000 annual visits and 15 beds. The physician will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with acute and emergent medical conditions, performing emergency medicine procedures including moderate sedation, collaborating with APCs and specialty consultants, and completing accurate medical documentation. The facility offers standard emergency department resources, dependable specialty support, and APC coverage for 10 hours daily. Physician coverage is 24 hours daily. The hospital has 103 beds.

Requirements

• Active Indiana Medical License
• Indiana Controlled Substance Registration
• DEA with Indiana Address Required
• Board Certified ABEM/AOBEM or Current ABMS-Recognized Specialty with Qualifying Emergency Medicine Experience
• Active DEA Required
• BLS or CPR Certification Required
• New EM Residency Graduates Within the Past 12 Months Accepted
• Internal Medicine Physicians Must Have Five Years of Continuous Full-Time Experience in a High-Volume Emergency Department (>30,000 Annual Visits)
• Documentation of Case Logs for the Past Two Years
• CME Attestation Required During Application Process
