About The Position

UWorld is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician Author to join their team. This role involves creating high-quality content for medical education products, including Question Banks for USMLE®, Internal Medicine (ABIM®), and Family Medicine (ABFM). The position blends clinical practice with medical education, allowing physicians to maintain their clinical skills while impacting the training of future physicians globally. The role requires a physician who thrives under pressure and can translate real-world emergency department experience into educational materials.

Requirements

Board-certified or board-eligible MD in Emergency Medicine
High scores on USMLE® Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3
Strong communication skills
Genuine passion for educating future physicians

Responsibilities

Write original clinical vignettes and comprehensive explanations for Question Banks, aligned with exam blueprints and high-stakes scenarios.
Review and revise work from fellow authors, providing feedback on accuracy, clarity, and educational value.
Collaborate with medical illustrators to create images highlighting essential emergency medicine concepts.
Work with physicians, editors, illustrators, IT experts, and customer support to produce content and improve processes.
Manage time effectively across projects and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture.
Take on additional projects supporting UWorld's mission in medical education.
