About The Position
Join a busy and collaborative Emergency Department team at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Physician Practice Enhancement (PPE) is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
- Active New York NP or PA license
- DEA registration or eligibility
Nice To Haves
- Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Critical Care, or Hospital Medicine experience preferred
- Strong clinical and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
- Perform medical screenings, histories, and physical examinations
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Perform procedures within scope of practice
- Assist with stabilization and management of critically ill patients
- Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and specialists to ensure quality patient care
- Provide patient education and discharge instructions
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives
