About The Position

We are seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), also referred to as an Emergency Response Technician or First Responder, to work in the emergency room at Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, Texas. EMTs provide immediate medical care and support, including initial patient assessments, basic life support procedures such as CPR, and vital-sign monitoring to help stabilize patients upon arrival. They also provide wound care, assist with patient transportation within the hospital, and coordinate care with emergency room staff. This is a full-time, night-shift role with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or related experience, required for new hires effective April 2014.
Basic EMT training or emergency room experience.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
Certified or licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity.

Responsibilities

Deliver immediate patient care using EMT training to provide basic life support, stabilize patients, and respond to medical emergencies in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Assess patients, including evaluating vital signs, symptoms, and medical history, and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals to support coordinated care and continuity of patient treatment.
Assist with patient triage by assessing the severity of conditions and supporting care-prioritization decisions based on clinical protocols.
Document patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes in electronic medical records.
Inspect and manage emergency medical equipment and supplies to ensure they are functional, clean, and available.
