About The Position
The Emergency Medical Technician performs tasks necessary to provide effective and efficient patient care in a pre-hospital setting and/or during intra-facility transfers. The role is based with Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center EMS in Hartford, Connecticut, and works full-time 12-hour overnight shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on a rotating 36/48 schedule, including rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintain continuing education as required by local Medical Control Authorities and the state’s Department of Consumer & Industry Services, where applicable.
- Licensed as an Emergency Medical Responder or EMT-B.
- Current AHA CPR certification.
- Current driver’s license in good standing in Connecticut and eligibility for driving privileges under current company policies and procedures.
- Ability to think and act calmly and quickly in emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional interactions and exemplary care and customer service to patients, families, hospital staff, the general public, and other public safety agencies.
- Safely operate company-owned vehicles and assist with their maintenance as required.
- Replenish medical equipment and supplies as needed.
