About The Position

Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center is hiring an Emergency Medical Technician for its EMS Hartford site in Hartford, Connecticut. The EMT performs tasks required to provide effective and efficient patient care in a pre-hospital setting and/or during intra-facility transfers. The role includes interacting professionally with patients, families, hospital staff, the public, and other public safety agencies, while providing exemplary care and customer service. The EMT safely operates and assists with maintaining company-owned vehicles and replenishes medical equipment and supplies as needed. This is a full-time position on 12-hour night shifts, following a rotating 36-hour/48-hour schedule. Saint Francis Hospital is a 617-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain continuing education as required by local Medical Control Authorities and the state's Department of Consumer & Industry Services, where applicable.
Licensure as an Emergency Medical Responder or EMT-B.
Current AHA CPR certification.
Valid Connecticut driver's license in good standing and eligibility for driving privileges under current company policies and procedures.
Ability to think and act calmly and quickly in emergency situations.
