We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated part-time Emergency Medical Technician Skill Assistant to join our team at our Fairfield, CA, location. We are interested in candidates who are looking to work for a company that is passionate about changing lives and helping build the essential workforce! This specific program is scheduled to run Monday through Friday; 1 PM to 5 PM. The Skills Instructor is scheduled to work Tuesdays and Thursdays during the skills portion of the program. Applicants must be available during the hours of this class schedule to be considered for this position.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience as an EMT, paramedic, or RN
  • Must hold a current certificate/license to practice as a Paramedic or EMT in the state of California.
  • A thorough understanding of EMS training equipment.
  • Comfortable with computers and technology.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience training and/or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting students with the skills associated with the scope of practice for their designated subject.
  • Assisting lead instructor to evaluate, report and record student performance and progress.
  • Assisting lead instructor with all required skill labs, grading class assignments, and exams.
  • Preparing students to go on to an externship.
  • Assisting students to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
  • Providing a professional role model for students.
  • Maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter area and effective communication strategies.
