About The Position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) / Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) is responsible to respond to the emergent and non-emergent calls for service and for providing Advanced Life Support, initial assessment, treatment and transportation of ill or injured persons in accordance with the Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations, Emergency Health Services Basic and Advance Life Support Protocols, and Keewatin Yatthe Health Region EMS Policies. Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. Requirements

  • Valid Class 4 driver's license
  • International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Level C Certificate (CPR)
  • Pre-Hospital Care Program - Intermediate Care Paramedic (ICP) Level
  • Pre-Hospital Care Program - Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Level
  • Basic - Interpersonal skills
  • Basic - Communication skills
  • Basic - Decision making skills
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to change
  • Knowledge in applicable tools and equipment
  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
