About The Position

Reporting to a Primary Health Manager, the Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) performs basic life support and also can deliver the widest range of advanced life support skills and administration of medications currently allowed for paramedics in Saskatchewan. The ACP will take medical direction from Primary Health Nurse Practitioners or Family Physicians if applicable to the client care situation. Home base for this position is: 2180 23rd Avenue (WRC). Requirements

  • Emergency Medical Technician advanced certificate (EMT)
  • Minimum of 18 months previous experience working as an Advanced Care Paramedic
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Level C Certificate (CPR)
  • International Trauma Life Support Advanced Certificate (ITLS)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Clinical skills
  • Computer skills
  • Variety of computer programs
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to appropriately intervene/attain intervention in emergency situations
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing workload
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer applications
  • Exemplifies ethical practices, professionalism and personal integrity
  • Knowledge, application and operation of equipment related to the practice of EMS
  • Thorough knowledge of the SHA and EMS policies and procedures
  • Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals
  • Registered/eligible with Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at ACP/EMT-P
  • Requires a valid driver’s license.
  • Physically fit and able to perform duties as outlined

  • Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
  • HSAS seniority in the SHA will be considered under the selection criteria

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic life support.
  • Delivers advanced life support skills and administration of medications.

  • Provides services in clinic/home settings in PHC Regina.
  • Travels to various community sites within Regina PHC Networks.
