About The Position

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to join their Level 1 Trauma Center. This role is a full-time position working night shifts, Monday – Friday with rotating weekends, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Requirements

• 1 year of EMT-B experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• BLS and EMT-B certification
• Must either be active on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or possess a current Virginia EMT License/Certification
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Computer skills.
• Must be able to attend an initial 6-week training, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

• Documents all required fields in medical records, computer entries and charges.
• Applies orthopedic splinting devices.
• Collects patient specimens following department/facility policies and procedures.
• Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies to optimize delivery of patient care and treatment.
• Assists with patient transport for testing, admission/discharge, interfacility and aeromedical (per policy of Operating Unit).
• Performs 12 lead ECG and places patients on continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Performs patient phlebotomy following department/facility policies and procedures.
• Provides wound care according to department clinical practice standards and acts as a resource to physicians and nurses to assist with optimum care.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
