About The Position

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to join their Level 1 Trauma Center. This role will be full time, working a mid shift, Monday – Friday with rotating weekends. Inova is consistently ranked a national healthcare leader in safety, quality and patient experience. Requirements

1 year of EMT-B experience
High School Diploma or GED
BLS and EMT-B; must either be active on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or possess a current Virginia EMT License/Certification
Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Computer skills.

Responsibilities

Documents all required fields in medical records, computer entries and charges.
Applies orthopedic splinting devices.
Collects patient specimens following department/facility policies and procedures.
Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies to optimize delivery of patient care and treatment.
Assists with patient transport for testing, admission/discharge, interfacility and aeromedical (per policy of Operating Unit).
Performs 12 lead ECG and places patients on continuous cardiac monitoring.
Performs patient phlebotomy following department/facility policies and procedures.
Provides wound care according to department clinical practice standards and acts as a resource to physicians and nurses to assist with optimum care.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
