The Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented, team player to join its team. In this role, you will primarily focus on property acquisition and demolition projects for housing recovery and reducing future flood risk across the state. Candidates with top tier verbal communication skills and the ability to digest technical and complex written material including state and Federal code, regulation and policy. Candidate backgrounds that may be beneficial (though not required) include real estate, legal, community development, or case advocacy. Working for HSEM requires adaptable professionals ready to step up when disaster strikes, sometimes requiring overtime and travel. Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours a week.
