The Assistant Director of Emergency Management, under general supervision, performs technical, administrative, supervisory and professional work providing Emergency Management services within Union County through managing a comprehensive preparedness and response program. The employee works with public, private and non-profit entities for disaster and non-disaster matters. Work requires exercising independent judgment and initiative and the ability to multi-task and prioritize decisions quickly and accurately in emergency situations and communicating in a tactful and diplomatic manner dealing with the public and multiple organizations. Technical judgment is required to coordinate emergency responses and hazard mitigation.
