The Georgetown University Office of Emergency Management (OEM) provides the framework to guide Georgetown University and its stakeholders in preparing for, preventing, mitigating, responding to, and recovering from emergencies and disasters. This position performs a broad range of emergency management functions, including outreach, planning, training, and exercises, and plays a critical role in the University’s response to and recovery from emergencies. The incumbent will function in a backup capacity to senior members of the OEM, including the Director, and must be available 24/7 during emergencies and planned events requiring OEM support. The position is primarily responsible for supporting emergency management activities at Georgetown’s Capitol Campus while also providing support across all University campuses and facilities in Washington, DC. The incumbent will collaborate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, public safety personnel, government agencies, and community partners, in the performance of their duties. Working under the guidance of the Director of OEM and senior emergency management staff, the incumbent will develop, implement, and evaluate outreach and education programs to enhance preparedness and resilience across the University.
