About The Position

The Site Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of all safety, health, and environmental programs at the site level. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.) while driving a proactive safety culture to minimize risks, eliminate injuries, and reduce environmental impact. The EHS Manager acts as the subject matter expert on site, promoting safe work practices and continuous improvement in safety performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical field (e.g., Engineering, Chemistry) preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of EHS leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA (1910/1926) and EPA regulations.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or similar certification is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with front-line employees and leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze safety data, spot trends, and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Ability to evaluate hazardous conditions and develop practical safety solutions.
  • Proven ability to influence safety behaviors and lead changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in EHS Management Software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with DOE, OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory agencies (e.g., DOT, NFPA, local fire department). Maintain necessary permits and submit required reports.
  • Create, update, and manage on-site EHS policies, procedures, and manuals, including HAZCOM, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, and Industrial Hygiene.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead thorough incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and share learnings across the company.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Actively promote a culture of safety through coaching, behavior-based initiatives, and engaging employees in hazard recognition.
  • Manage on-site hazardous waste storage, disposal, and compliance (RCRA) and minimize the company's environmental footprint.
  • Oversee the safety practices of suppliers and contractors on site.
