About The Position
Trinity Health Of New England is seeking an Emergency Department Tech to join the team at Johnson Memorial Hospital. The role assists physicians and provides care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. The Tech performs and documents care in patients’ electronic health records, provides basic nursing care, and carries out procedures and treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse. The position is part-time, 24 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts, with every other weekend and holidays worked as scheduled.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks.
- CPR/Basic Life Support certification.
Nice To Haves
- American Red Cross certification is preferred; American Heart Association certification is accepted.
Responsibilities
- Perform and document care in patients’ electronic health records.
- Provide basic nursing care, including activities of daily living, routine specimen collection, vital signs, intake and output, and weight measurement.
- Perform procedures and treatments, including EKGs and point-of-care testing, and apply restraints while monitoring patient responses and providing constant observation.
- Perform tasks delegated by the Registered Nurse.
- Communicate routinely with the Registered Nurse and immediately report findings or concerns.
- Recognize problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions to correct them.
- Educate patients and family members to support a transparent understanding of the care being provided.
