This is a full-time night position for an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN). The role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize resources. It requires strong prioritization, critical thinking, and decisive judgment skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The RN must comply with triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation guidelines, utilizing evidence-based practices to collaborate with the healthcare team. Responsibilities include coordinating patient care, managing transfers, discharges, and referrals, and addressing spiritual/psychosocial support needs. The position also involves identifying communication barriers, evaluating patient and family learning needs, and providing appropriate education. The RN will delegate patient care effectively and may precept student nurses and new hires. Practice must align with professional and ethical standards, including the ANA Code of Ethics and Colorado State Nurse Practice Act. The role emphasizes demonstrating caring attitudes, building therapeutic relationships, and engaging in patient and family teaching. Additionally, the RN must demonstrate commitment to the organization's values, maintain effective communication, adhere to dress code, exhibit initiative, complete required training, maintain patient confidentiality, report punctually, contribute to performance improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and follow safety and infection control procedures.
