Emergency Department RN PRN
About The Position
Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. The RN is responsible and accountable for providing direct, comprehensive nursing care and works as an on-shift team member to meet the needs of patients, families, and coworkers. The Emergency Department has 41 beds across two pods, including 37 private rooms, and a split-flow area near main triage for lower-acuity patients. Split flow typically serves 5–8 patients and is staffed by 1–2 nurses and a mid-level provider. This fast-paced department treats an average of more than 160 patients per day, including patients with acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, and psychiatric needs. The department is an American Heart Association-recognized STEMI receiving center and designated Primary Stroke Center. The position requires 36 hours in a six-week schedule, including 12 hours on a weekend. Requirements
- Current Indiana or compact-state RN license, or graduation from an approved nursing program.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
- ACLS certification within 12 months of hire.
- PALS certification within 12 months of hire.
- NIHSS certification within 10 weeks of hire.
- At least 2 years of emergency room experience.
