About The Position

This role involves assisting the Acute Care Director in providing organization, direction, and support for CNA staffing for med-surg staff members. The position collaborates with the Acute Care Director in managing the budget, personnel, materials, and environment of care to ensure quality, cost-effective services for the med-surg unit and the Emergency Department. Additionally, this role organizes and coordinates the hospital's Trauma Care Response.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensed Registered Nurse with a current Iowa license
  • Good computer skills
  • Minimum of three years clinical experience
  • Good supervisory skills
  • Knowledgeable of E.D. and trauma procedures
  • Trauma training (Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or equivalent)
  • Maintain appropriate CEU's in trauma care in accordance with 641-137(147A)
  • Maintain 16 hours of continuing trauma education every four years (can be met by completing TNCC every four years)
