About The Position

As part of a 24/7 service, this full-time, 40-hour-per-week CARE position supports patient care and operations across the ICU, ER, and Progressive Care wards. The role includes maintaining infection control, providing hands-on patient care, and assisting veterinarians and technicians with clinical tasks. The position also offers experience with overnight wildlife cases and rotation through the Blood Bank service, including learning transfusion operations and working with donor dogs. The position offers limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. Promotional opportunities to a level II title may be available after achieving appropriate certifications, and the position may become eligible to transition into a TEAMS staff salary plan.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds, bend, kneel, pull, push, twist, and stand for an extended period.
• Work a 40-hour week, typically comprising one 13-hour shift and two 13.5-hour shifts.
• Work the available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday daytime schedule from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Work alternating holiday shifts, shared among ECC staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean areas and equipment, sterilize supplies, and restock to support infection control.
• Provide hands-on patient care, including feeding, walking, and grooming.
• Assist DVMs and technicians with triage, restraint, intake, and documentation.
• Gain experience with overnight wildlife cases.
• Rotate through the Blood Bank service, learning transfusion operations and working with donor dogs.
