The Emergency Crisis Services Psychiatrist provides timely psychiatric assessment, crisis intervention, and treatment recommendations for patients presenting to the Emergency Department and other acute care settings with behavioral health and substance use concerns. Working closely with emergency medicine providers, behavioral health clinicians, hospital staff, and community partners, this role helps ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered psychiatric care during periods of crisis while supporting appropriate disposition and transitions of care. In addition to clinical responsibilities, this position will play a key role in supporting psychiatric education and physician development through participation in the Indiana University School of Medicine Psychiatry Residency Program, including the clinical supervision and training of residents as part of an eight-resident psychiatry residency program launching in July 2027.
