Emergency Communications Specialist WMCG
About The Position
Wellstar is seeking an Emergency Communications Specialist for their Emergency Communications Center (ECC). This role involves responding to calls from referring physicians, AUMC physicians, pre-hospital (EMS) providers, and other medical personnel efficiently and with a customer-oriented approach. The specialist will assist in the communication and coordination of emergency patient referrals and transportation, both incoming and outgoing from the hospital. A secondary responsibility includes facilitating communication within the Emergency Department and with consulting physicians, using radio communication with helicopters, transport teams, and ambulances. This involves receiving patient information, completing documentation, and directing calls according to established criteria.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization.
- 1 year(s) or more of experience in healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with professional jargon used by EMS professionals and aircraft pilots.
- Experience operating two-way radio equipment.
- Georgia EMT (Advanced, Intermediate, or Paramedic) or National Registry of EMTs.
Nice To Haves
- Vocational or technical training or degree.
- EMS dispatch or 911 training.
- ACLS and PALS Certification.
Responsibilities
